The Mustafa Ali World Tour Results (So Far)
The Free Agent Started The Year With a Bang and Has 0 Sign of Slowing Down
Mustafa Ali officially wrestled his last match in WWE in September of 2023. He was released from WWE later that month and set his sights on a world tour return to the independent circuit.
His journey has seen him wrestle in multiple countries and capture more than one championship. As the first quarter of 2024 comes to an end, let’s reflect on where the tour has taken him.
The Mustafa Ali World Tour Results (So Far)
APC 20th Anniversary - 1.6.2024
The tour kicked off in France with a match against Aigle Blanc in Association les Professionnels du Catch. Ali took on the 25-year-old high-flyer in a 22-minute match that saw Ali pick up a victory against the young Blanc. Ali had the advantage here as he is known for being a flyer, but also a skilled technician.
GCW No Compadre - 1.12.2024
Ali headed to Game Changer Wrestling (GCW) to take on Gringo Loco in Chicago, Illinois, which both men hail from. The match marked Ali’s first United States independent wrestling match since 2016. Two Chicago-based high-flying wrestlers entered Thalia Hall, but Ali was the only one with his hand raised when the last bell sounded.
Demand Lucha Plancha Tendencies 2024 - 1.18.2024
Ali and Gringo Loco did not have to wait long to see each other again. Less than a week after their encounter in Chicago, the two stepped into the ring with Jack Cartwheel at Demand Lucha’s Plancha Tednecies event in a triple-threat match. Cartwheel added even more speed, athleticism, and flying ability to the matchup. This also marked Ali’s third independent match in as many countries as the event took place in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It also marked his first triple-threat win of the tour.
C4 The Revenant - 1.19.2024
The very next night Ali headed to Capital City Championship Combat (C4) in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada where he took on Vaughn Vertigo. Vertigo, like Ali, is proficient in both technical and high-flying wrestling. This was not enough for him to secure a win at The Revenant event, as Ali improved to 4-0 on the campaign.
NSPW Kick Off 2024 - 1.20.2024
Ali finished up the first Canadian leg of the tour at North Shore Pro Wrestling (NSPW). He took on Leon Saver who is a well-traveled independent wrestler and has held numerous championships. This mixed with his lethal superkick was not enough to earn a win over Ali.
PROGRESS Chapter 162: The Light Of The Dragon - 1.28.2024
The January portion of the tour wrapped up with a stop at the well-known United Kingdom promotion, PROGRESS for Chapter 162: The Light of the Dragon. He took on England’s own Leon Slater, who at only 19 years old has already made waves in the independent scene in multiple countries. His speed, athleticism, and high-flying ability brought a lot to the match against Ali but were not enough to stop Ali’s win streak.
DEFY Seven - 2.09.2024
The tour continued into February with a stop on the west coast at DEFY Wrestling for the Seven event. His opponent Judas Icarus at only 25 years old has made waves across the independent circuit. He has picked up titles in both singles and tag team action across multiple promotions. The clash in Seattle saw Ali pick up his first West Coast victory of the tour.
DREAMWAVE Run This Town - 2.10.2024
A return to the home state of Illinois saw Ali in a high-stakes matchup for DREAMWAVE Wrestling. With the DREAMWAVE Alternative Championship on the line. Ali had to take on defending champion El Hijo Del Viking, Penta El Zero Miedo, and Gringo Loco. This marked the third time Ali and Gringo Loco shared a ring during the tour. It also marked the first championship win of the tour.
RevPro High Stakes 2024: Ospreay Vs. Oku - 2.18.2024
The tour once again went across the pond as Ali competed at RevPro High Stakes 2024. He took on Robbie X who is a fellow veteran and high-flyer between (and outside) of the ropes. Although Robbie is a veteran and has a similar style to Ali, it was not enough to stop the win streak of Ali on his tour.
Prestige A Moment Of Violence - 2.25.2024
From London England all the way to Los Angelos California, this stretch emphasized the “World” portion of the world tour. This match had many people excited as he took on TNA X-Division member “Speedball” Mike Bailey. Bailey is known for his speed, martial arts skills, and high-flying ability. On paper he was very well matched against Ali, but it was not enough for Bailey to end the winning streak of Ali.
Revolution Brewing - Trouble is Brewing - 3.01.2024
Ali returned to his hometown of Chicago, Illinois to main event the first-ever wrestling show to take place at Revolution Brewing. He took on Trey Miguel with the sold-out crowd heavily behind the hometown hero. The match displayed both men’s athletic abilities and even made its way near the excited hometown crowd. Ali extended his win stream in his hometown over a member of The Rascalz.
HOG Reckoning - 3.02.2024
When Ali stepped into a House of Glory (HOG) ring in New York City, he took on arguably his toughest competition. He squared off with Alex Shelley who can match Ali’s experience, technical ability, speed, athleticism, and flying ability. On paper, Shelley is the most evenly matched opponent of the tour. Although they were evenly matched, it was not enough for Shelley to end the winning streak of Ali.
Destiny Carnage 2024 - 3.03.2024
Rounding out an eventful weekend, Ali headed back to Canada to take on Gabriel Fuerza at Destiny’s Carnage event. Fuerza brought 11 years of experience to the ring with him and is another high-flying wrestler. He has held titles in Destiny, C4, and other promotions. All of the championship experience did not help propel him to a win over Ali, who had his hand raised at the end of the night.
DPW Live 5 - 3.10.2024
Returning to the home state of Illinois, Ali stepped into a ring for DEADLOCK Pro-Wrestling. He took on BK Westbrook who has made his way around the independent circuit and brings plenty of charisma with him. “The Starboy of Pro Wrestling” didn’t have enough in the tank to hand Ali his first loss since leaving the WWE as the win streak continued.
WOW New Breed 2024 - 3.16.2024
From his home state to the “Big Apple”, Ali once again stepped into a ring in New York City. This time in a triple-threat match against Mike Datello and Roger Mendez. Both Datello and Mendez are in the early stages of their career and no question learned plenty from their time in the ring with Ali. Even though Ali didn’t technically have to be pinned or submitted to lose the match, he was able to overcome the numbers game and win the match.
FIGHT LIFE Lead The Charge - 3.26.2024
The tour continued north as Ali stepped into a ring in Connecticut for the first time on the tour. He took on the veteran JT Dunn who has found success in both singles and tag team action on the independent circuit. The match took place at FIGHT Life - Lead the Charge. Although Dunn is a veteran, it was not enough to propel him to a win over Ali.
Making an IMPACT
In addition to his tour of the independents, Ali has made appearances for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). He made an appearance at the No Surrender event where he defeated Chris Sabin for the X-Division Championship. He has since picked up wins over Kevin Knight, and Time Machine in six-man tag team action.
He is scheduled to make more appearances for the promotion and will continue to defend the X-Division Championship. Will this be the only televised appearance he makes? According to rumors reported by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, other televised promotions have an interest in working with Ali. The possibilities are virtually endless for Ali to extend his tour.
What’s Next?
As of post time of this article, Ali will take on Rich Swann at PW Revolver tonight at 8 pm Eastern time. He will then challenge opponents such as Alex Zayne (Relentless Pro Wrestling), Amazing Red (House of Glory), Hiromu Takahashi (New Japan Pro Wrestling), Storm Grayson (Freelance Wrestling), Landon Hale (ACTION Wrestling), and will make an appearance for Northeast Wrestling. A full schedule can be found below.
The Ali World Tour (So Far): In Conclusion
The tour has yielded an undefeated record and multiple titles for Ali. He is showing no signs of slowing down as he travels from promotion to promotion, in a way reminiscent of the old territory days.
