About Heart as Art

Welcome, and thanks for stopping by! I greatly appreciate you taking the time to read my content. What should you expect from Heart as Art? Editorial content, interviews, historical articles, and more from the always-moving worlds of professional wrestling, video games, and other things you would find on the floor of a comic, anime, or pop culture convention! Sometimes even combining these all together for even more fun!

You may be thinking, “Why mash-up pro wrestling, video games, and convention culture?” The short answer is my editorial history brought me to those two topics. My journalism career started with Last Word on Pro Wrestling and later Last Word on Gaming. My “greatest hits” from those sites can be found under the “My Other Work” tab.

The longer answer is that they have a lot in common. It may not be the most obvious connection but let’s dig in a bit.

They can be interpreted as a work of art in a non-traditional sense. They take a lot of heart to become involved in. Although on opposite ends of the spectrum, stepping into a wrestling ring, a game design studio, or any other creative outlet that can be found on a convetion floor takes a lot of heart. They elicit a passionate reaction from those who observe and participate. These art forms bring people together, elicit debate, have creative energy, and make an impact on the lives of those who participate.

Lastly and most importantly - they are just fun.
